Cuba says it is receiving more visitors each year, but tourism income
has yet to return to what it was before the global financial crisis
caused a sharp downturn in the sector.

The National Office of Statistics says arrivals are up from 2.15 million
in 2007 to 2.53 million last year. That's an 18 percent increase.

But visitors are making shorter trips and spending less. Tourism revenue
was $2.24 billion in 2007 and just $2.22 billion last year.

The report was published this week on the statistics office's website.
