MIAMI -- The U.S. Coast Guard has returned 18 Cuban migrants to their

Six of the migrants were picked up in a vessel spotted southwest of Key
West on April 24. Twelve were picked up two days later southwest of
Marquesas Key in a vessel that Coast Guard officials describe as
"rustic." No additional details were immediately available.
The Coast Guard has picked up 494 Cuban migrants since this fiscal year
began Oct. 1. In the last fiscal year, the Coast Guard reported 1,275
Cuban migrant interdictions.
