Leader of political party Zamandash Mukhtarbek Omurakunov was killed by
3-meter wave on Cuba resort, as press secretary of the party told 24.kg
news agency.
Reportedly, three-meter wave surged ashore, while Mukhtarbek Omurakunov
stayed at one of the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. "He died in
hospital. Large waves were observed at other beaches, causing the death
of 9 other people, mostly residents of European countries. Mukhtarbek
Omurakunov's body will be delivered to Bishkek tomorrow, May 5, at 5.00
a.m. Memorial service will be held in the Theater of Opera and Ballet,
and funerals - in his native village named after Kalinin of At-Bashy
district of Naryn region," reported the press-service
