Serdyukov met with the Cuban military delegation led by Army Corps
General Alvaro Lopez Miera, Vice-Minister of Cuba's Revolutionary Armed
Forces and Chief of the General Staff.
The meeting focused on bilateral military, military-technical
cooperation and issues concerning stability in Latin America and the
world at large.
The Russian Defence Minister noted that 2009 marked a revival of
Russian-Cuban cooperation in all spheres.
According to the Russian Defence Minister, military cooperation has an
important place in the overall bilateral relations. We consider that the
military and military-technical cooperation between the two countries
gradually leaves on qualitatively new level. The Russian minister
underlined that Cuba remains the true and reliable partner for Russia.
